i am on day 7 today of my juice feast. it is going pretty well. my only truly rough day was saturday when i did the saturday market. (i make and sell jewelry at the Saturday Market where i live in Eugene, Oregon). i brought two extra quarts of juice with me plus some lemon water and plain water, but i didn't have enough liquids for the heat of the day and i started to bonk and get a bad headache and get real spacey. i came home and juiced and drank water and later juiced again. i went to bed very early and was exhausted. other than that day my days have been pretty easy with this experience.
i am experimenting still with different juice combinations and making notes of the flavor and how light they feel on my palate. yesterday my husband wanted to go to the McKenzie River and jump in. we go to this spot along the river called "Nudie Rock" that has a beach and is very secluded. it was an overcast day yet still had fall warmth. he was a little irritated with me until i agreed to go there first on our outdoor adventure plans.
i decided to jump into the rapids naked as i knew it would be good for my body during the feast to be in fresh water. todd had gone first and i watched to make sure he survived the rapids and got out, plus i wanted to make sure he was watching as i made my journey. so i jumped in and oh my god was it cold!
i screamed twice on the ride and actually went under the water and had to swim to get to the top. i managed to get back to the surface and keep my head above water and swam to the end of the rapids and onto the shore. it was oh so refreshing and stimulating. i thought of going again! but contented myself with cleaning out a little pond by the area where we were sitting that had gotten clogged with sticks and leaves and debris until it was free flowing again. it felt so good for my body to be by this beautiful river, naked playing in the water, out in nature on a beautiful overcast day.
Descriptive journey in the land of juice feasting. I am seeking to share my experience, inspire others and document my progress along this 92 day feast.

Day 4 of the Journey
Well, today my juicer broke (the interior basket). I contacted John at DiscountJuicers.com.....the sweet man that I purchased it from and he gave me the 800 number of the company and said he would be sure and make sure that they sent me a new one. I will have to wait until Monday as the company is in a different time zone. Luckily there is another basket with bigger holes that I can use in the mean time. I am having to strain the pulp out anyhow with a nut milk bag....so it's not a HUGE deal.....just a minor inconvenience.
Just now I noticed that the left sinus is sort of snotty! I am feeling like it wants to drain. Not much in the way of poop is happening either. I can't be that cleaned out YET! Although my tummy is getting flatter by the day. I forgot to weigh myself this a.m., but I don't want to get too concerned about that either....not trying to lose weight. I am doing this feast for internal cleansing and rejuvenation.
I had a delicious juice this afternoon: 2 Hogan Melons and 1 small yellow watermelon. I work on a farm two mornings a week and we still have some melons in the field that are just sitting there waiting for me.
I also had some bee pollen and hemp oil and one cascara sagrada capsule and one enzyme cap. Drank some water with lemon and another cup of lemon balm and spearmint tea. My energy is much better than yesterday. I actually am feeling much happier. I gave myself an hour or so to do a mandala for my mandala class. It was my Mandala for Intention. See "A Painter's Portal" blog for a pic!
Well, back to the work bench and soon some more JUICE. Happy day to All!

The Journey Begins - Juicy Fruit goes public
Well, I decided to go public with my 92 day juice feast which started on Tuesday of this week. (09/22/10) I am keeping a private journal and will post parts of it here for all to read and hopefully be inspired. I am making notations for each quart that I juice (ingredients, flavor, etc.) and will share those as I feel inspired to do so. It is a HUGE commitment that I am making to myself to do this juice feast. I read Angela Stokes Monarch's "A Juice Feaster's Handbook" on a camping trip at a mountain lake a couple of month's ago and decided on that trip to undertake this journey.
Day One:
I wrote this intention, signed and dated it:
It is my intention to complete this exciting journey of a 92 Day Juice FEAST for detoxification, cleansing out old waste, old ideas, old belief systems. I intend to tonify, rejuvenate and youthen my body during this fabulous feast. I have support and guidance without and within. I look forward to recording my daily intake and output, my thoughts, hopes and aspirations.
